1) Replace individual pickets
The most common fix when boards cup or split. Match thickness and width so the fence stays level.
2) Replace failing posts
Two options:
- Full removal and new concrete set.
- Post-saver bracket system to avoid digging out the old footing.
3) Reinforce a leaning fence
- Add a new post beside the old to stand the section back up.
- Or reset the entire section with new footings if multiple spans lean.
4) Replace rails only
Rails rot or split long before pickets. Swapping rails can buy years of life when pickets are still solid.
If more than 30% of posts are gone, replacement is usually cheaper than piecemeal repairs.
